![]() According to a Harris Poll survey for USA TODAY, one in five workers who quit during the past two years regret their decision now. The study from Joblist is not one of the cases highlighting the depressing and discouraging state of those who jumped off the ship recently. Perhaps, that’s why 22% expressed missing older colleagues at their previous company. Making new friends and meeting new colleagues are always a bit challenging and time taking.3% think that considering all other facts, the higher pay at the new job was never worth it.9% hated the bad culture and management at the new job.16% said their old job was better than they realized. ![]() The decision makes them regret it now as they miss their previous organizations. 17% agreed that the grass wasn’t greener on the other side, and the new job they thought would come with better work culture and opportunities never matched their expectations.Around 40% of people quit their jobs without having a new job lined up because companies were hiring tremendously, and employees were confident they would easily get a new opportunity. The ongoing talent war has seeded overconfidence among employees.The same Joblist report highlights a few of the main reasons behind great employee regret: Salaries and job security isn’t the only factor, but mental health and guilt of leaving a better job make great regret, Greater! Increasing inflation, gas prices, and recession news surely increase tensions and make employees worry about their future.
